Retention forestry now sparing trees and benefitting biodiversity worldwide

(American Institute of Biological Sciences) Deliberately leaving some trees standing after harvesting, a practice known as retention forestry, has been successfully employed in landscapes worldwide and offers multiple advantages over traditional, industrial forest management, according to an international group of researchers.
